    Story

We are a primary special school based in the North East that supports the education and well-being of 190 pupils ranging from 2-11 years of age who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs including autism, cerebral palsy, severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

As a school we pride ourselves on providing a rich and diverse learning environment. Lessons are inclusive, fun and we aim to provide interactive learning experiences throughout the school.

Sadly, the sensory room at the school is in need of an upgrade. The equipment we have is now outdated and does not support the changing needs of the pupils. As a school we are eager to provide an immersive learning environment where the physical, emotional and sensory needs of all pupils are met.

An effective sensory room can have huge benefits, including the promotion of communication skills, pupil well-being, relaxation, interactive learning, social interaction and sensory regulation. It can also provide a secure environment for therapy programs such as physiotherapy to be incorporated into the day.

We are aiming to raise £20,000 to create the best environment for our pupils. Staff have already kick- started the project within school, with our first sponsored events taking place this term and Christmas fundraisers being planned. This is the start of our project and we know we have a long way to go if we want this to be beneficial to all.

If you feel you can support us in any way we would be extremely grateful.

Fundraising offline has been going extremely well with several events held and support from the local community. We are beginning to collect designs for how we would like our new room to look. Thankyou for your continued support.
