    Story

I am a born adventurer and cyclist who has travelled more than 8000 cycling miles on tour with a 30-40kg load in panniers all over the UK. I cycle in almost every weather possible sometimes for weeks or months at a time averaging 80-110 miles per day. I have rode 2 Lands End to John o Groats, one St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay lake district to north Yorkshire coast to coast, one Lands End to Margate coast to coast and a Portsmouth to Porthmadog cycle also.

I am also Autistic. I have both Asperger's Syndrome and A.D.H.D. I don't exactly cycle to prove I'm capable and the same as other people but I do it to feel proud of myself and set myself goals in life I feel I must fulfil especially in cycling. I love it!!

going back to my school and college life, I was heavily misunderstood, bullied, discriminated and singled out by some people, being seen as vulnerable or stupid or someone who talks rubbish or boring or crap. somebody seen as an idiot who can't fit in.

I noticed all this. it caused me depression, anger and anxiety. I did and said stuff in the past now I look back on and sometimes wish I didn't as a result. but it doesn't matter to me now. I've battled my depression. I'm out of it these days and I'm not chasing hundreds of friendships with the people I missed who don't care about me that I used to think were my friends. I know my real friends and I don't chase understanding and friendships because my true friends and people want to who understand me chase me. some of the friends I've made on tour I'm still friends with as they never wish to use me or judge me for my views and ways of life.

The money will go towards more people with autism to help change the future for our future autistic children and adults so the world can mend its ways on the way we view autistic people, their capabilities and understanding so that one day I hope the world will see all autistic people as capable ordinary people with the same chances, emotions and feelings.
