    Story

We all unfortunately know someone who has been through cancer, but when it is someone within your family or like ourselves, our mum, whom we adore, love and appreciate, hearing that C word is soul destroying! Our mum has been there all our lives, she has been our biggest support system and now at the ages of 18 and 19 we are now old enough to return the support and dedication she gave us so lovingly back  by  doing  everything  we  can   to  help  get  any  treatment  we  can  to  ensure  our  mum  is  around  to  live  a  long  and  cancer  free  life.

Let  us  tell  you  about  the  first  time  our  mum  was  diagnosed  with  breast  cancer,  we  were  12  and  13  years  old,  too  young  to  have  a  complete  understanding  of  what  she  was  about  to  go  through.  Our  strong  single  mum  who  held  our  little  family  together  quickly  fell  apart  before  our  eyes.  We  watched  helplessly  while  she  went  through  chemotherapy,  loosing  her  hair  and  all  of  her  ability  to  do  her  daily  routines.

After 1 whole long year mum was free of cancer and for 6 years lived a healthy lifestyle. But in the past 12 months mum developed a persistent cough, and after numerous doctor appointments and repeatedly  being told it was nothing to be worried about they could not be further from the truth.

Most recently she had a heart scan and was admitted to hospital . After further examinations and scans we was told the devastating news that the cancer was back and has spread into  her  lungs  and  spine  and  it  is  incurable.  At  this  point  our  world  fell  apart  for  the  second  time!

My  mum  was  told  she  would  need  chemotherapy  and  radiation  again as soon as possible.  We  have  explored  all  avenues  of  NHS  treatments  and  also  alternative  treatments,  which  leads  us  to  setting  up  this  fundraising  page  to  hopefully  raise  enough  funding  to  provide  our  mum  with  the best  chance  of  recovery.

For  every  penny  donated  we  would  be  entirely  grateful.

Her daughters, Shannon and Charlotte and her granddaughter, Amelia xx
