Story
The objective is to undertake a challenging 80 km trek through the Fish River Canyon in Namibia, the largest canyon in Africa and second only to the Grand Canyon. To paddle on the Orange River (South Africa) and nally to undertake a culteral visit to Cape Town (South Africa) to take in Table Mountain and visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was inprisoned.
Along the way, we plan to undertake a community project where the cadets will plan and work towards helping and spending time with the Riemvasmaak Community, a displaced and disadvantaged people with a love for football.
The goal is to expose our cadets to a culture and experience that will change lives for the better - those they meet as well as thier own. The RAFAC is an organistion which aims to help young people become better citizens armed with skills for life; this expedition will help achieve that aim.

My name is Shivana. In cadets I’m know as FS Persad. This expedition is a once in a lifetime opportunity and allow me to have the chance to do something no other 18yr old has ever been given the chance to do. I am looking forward to help those that need it in South Africa!
