Story
We are a group of young people from the Brighton area, on the NCS program. We are planning to transform the disused and overgrown garden area at the back of Shore House into an allotment and accessible fire exit, with the long term goal of the residents being able to produce some of their own food. Shore House is run by the Brighton Housing trust, which houses and works with vulnerable people dealing with mental heath and substance misuse issues in the local area. The allotment will provide a safe place to bring a real positive change in the residents lives.
We are raising money to buy/hire essential equipment to remove the vegetation, and put in beds and turf. We will donate any unused money to Brighton Housing Trust.
