I first met this inspirational young lady late last year when she visited my work with her family and wanted to learn about internet shopping. Isabella is just a normal girl who has been battling neuroblastoma since 2010. She relapsed in Feb 2015 , Oct 2015 and again in March 2017. Her family are fundraising to take her to America where treatment is available that may save her life, the cost of this treatment is £150,000.

Since meeting Isabella and her family I have wanted to support in someway by challenging myself while I am fit and able. As some of you may know I am relatively new to running however, find myself hooked with the running bug. I was hoping to use a London Marathon place to stretch myself however another opportunity has presented itself which is a completely different prospect altogether.

I have had a free entry place to the Gamstrail in Kitzbühel, Austria, gifted to me by a running colleague and the challenge I sought found me. I am a road runner and don't venture onto trails very often as I have a nasty habit of twisting ankles hence the nick name "porcelain running man". Whilst the 20 kilometer distance isn't a challenge on a flat road surface, 20 kilometers off road and climbing 1270 meters puts me seriously out of my comfort zone.

Gamstrail event

We have decided to add an additional challenge the following day with a 22 kilometer hike climbing to the summit of Rastkogel from the top station drop off to 2,762 meters high, taking Isabella's fight on to the main crest of the Tux Alps.

I have already started other fund raising activities at store with my community champion to assist with travel costs, all money raised on this page will go directly to Isabella and her family therefore any donation will be very gratefully received.
