    Story

This spring, over just 15 days, I’m going to attempt to climb all 214 Wainwright fells in one continuous round. If all goes to plan, during the challenge I’ll cover 326 miles, climbing over 35,000 metres across challenging and rocky terrain.

Why am I doing it? Not only is it a personal challenge and something I’m doing for the sheer joy of being in the great outdoors, I also care about walkers’ rights. During my professional life as a director at the Ramblers, I work hard to promote walking.

Some would say I’m going above and beyond, or taking my job one step further (no pun intended!) by taking on this challenge, by both raising awareness of the issues facing walkers, but I hope by also inspiring people to tackle their own personal Everest.

The Ramblers, as Britain’s walking charity, has been working for walkers since 1935. In that time, with the help of our members, volunteers and supporters, we've successfully campaigned to open up some of the most beautiful parts of Britain - work we’re still doing to this day.

None of our work would be possible without the generosity of people like you, who are passionate about walking and care about the future of Britain’s walking spaces.

I’m not asking anyone to take on this challenge with me, but I’d be very grateful of your support through donations to help protect the places we all love to walk.

I captured a lot of video and photos on my challenge, and hopefully I'll be pulling together a round-up vlog and blog on the Ramblers website in the coming weeks.

A big thanks to you Nicky, Andrew, Jess, Peter and Heather. Thank you to the anonymous person who has donated £1 for every fell too. I hope I get up them all OK! I start in just a few days now... Thank you all!
