Weʼve raised £1,210 to Everest the Crow Road, Scotland for The Unity Centre.

    Glasgow, United Kingdom
Funded on Wednesday, 29th June 2016

    Story

In response to the biggest refugee crisis in recent history and in support of the amazing work of The Unity Centre, Glasgow, Adam Carmichael and Josh Widera will cycle continuously the Crow Road in Lennoxtown until they gain the equivalent elevation gain of Mount Everest - 8,848 m (29,029 ft).

Everesting is a concept created by Hells 500 in Australia. On their website they describe it in the simplest terms

PICK A CLIMB / RIDE 8,848M OF REPEATS / CLAIM AN EVERESTING

In our case, the climb we have chosen is the Crow Road in Lennoxtown just outside of Glasgow.

This entire event is a fundraiser. You can support us by donating, with a part of the money coming back to you in form of little gifts and kickstarter-like rewards, and the majority going towards The Unity Centre.

The Unity Centre is a no borders centre that offers unconditional practical and emotional support and solidarity to people seeking asylum, refugees, and anyone affected by border and migration controls. For 10 years, there's been an office open 5 days a week & a 24hr phoneline, completely volunteer run as a non-hierarchical collective.

    A bit about us:
As couriers, we are used to being on our bikes a lot but it's become more than a job.
In recent years, Adam (ex-enger from Dresden and soon to go back into the business) cycled a few long-distance endurance adventures. A two weeks ago, he cycled from Glasgow to Cambridge in two days, ticking off over 400km on the second day! Working on the streets of Glasgow has made this man waterproof (see our blogpost...the trick is a combination of attitude and wet-suit!)
Josh (ex-enger from London and Melbourne) once cycled from Germany to London on a heavily packed track bike before starting work in the capital. Recently he spent one month in solitude cycling through New Zealand, sleeping on beaches and in forests, fighting with wind, sun, rain and himself.

    Thanks for your support!
