Noelli moved yard and stood in a stable all week with no exercise and then was taken to shows most weekends to compete.This lead to her becoming very unwell with stress laminitus.When she came back to my yard I couldn't believe the change in this beautiful pony that had given her all for her life. We started to give her lots of attention to ease her stress.The farrier did the best job to make her comfortable but had little hope.She then took a choking fit and ended up needing to have a Trachanatony.Due to her fitness levels her breathing started to trouble her.Since June we have been lightly riding her out and putting her out in the field with our old pony, gradually increasing the turn out time as she builds up strength.By investing time and love Noelli has made such great progress and is as bright as a button and is nearly sound. Her feet are almost back to normal.After all this time and effort spent the owners wanted Noelli to go to a new home to be a companion pony for a horse that is kept in a field. I advised that this would be harmful to Noelli's health as she needs to be constantly monitored. She was then left with me as she was no longer of use.I unfortunately can not afford the upkeep as have too many horses of my own.I would rather have her put down than for her to end up in the wrong hands or to stand about in a field all the time.It is so so sad as she has improved so much and I really think that she is capable to return to fitness and give someone a lot of fun. Ideally with the funds I would like someone to take her on loan and she would stay at my yard where I can continue to monitor her.To get her completely sound I estimate that it will take around 6 months as I will need to get her breathing checked.I feel that Noelli has come through so much and has fought so hard that it would be such a shame to get her put down.
