SMURFIT KAPPA SOUTH WEST CHARITY CHALLENGE 2018

On 11th August a team of Smurfit Kappa employees and freinds will complete a 20 mile walk for charity.

Richard Owen has worked for Inspirepac/ Smurfit Kappa for over 20 years, his wife Natalie was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the start of 2017.

As his colleagues at Smurfit Kappa, we want to raise as much money as possible for the family and the potential treatment she may need in the future.

The treatment that Natalie needed for this rare cancer isn’t available in the U.K., this treatment is called Proton Beam Therapy. However, in April 2018 it was decided the family would not travel to America for this based on the risk of further unwanted side effects.

For now, she continues to be closely monitored, and if she does need this treatment further down the line, she will travel to America, unless the accessibility of this does change in the U.K.

Richard, Natalie and their two children are trying to move forward with their lives, onwards and upwards knowing a decision has been made by the experts and a careful eye will be kept on Natalie over the coming years.
