Story
On 16th September 2016, at 5 months pregnant I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy but 20 weeks too early he sadly wasn't strong enough to survive & we have been left heartbroken that we will never get to hear him cry, or do any of the things that we so often take for granted.
We met our sleeping baby boy at Queen's hospital in Romford and although we couldn't fault the care we received from the staff, the bereavement room known as 'the snowdrop room' is in need of some improvement. With government funding low and budgets stretched beyond measure this room is in desperate need of some TLC.
This is where YOU can help! I had lots of caring messages from friends and family after our loss asking if there was anything they 'could do to help' and that I shouldn't hesitate to ask if there was - So here I am, asking for you to help me. Help me raise enough money that the snowdrop room can be the tranquil, peaceful place that it should be for grieving families to spend their final moments with their sleeping babies.
The money we raise will be given directly to the bereavement team at Queen's Hospital who have invited me to put my improvement ideas forward so that together, we can make changes for the future. I cannot change my experience but I will take comfort in knowing I have done something that could change someone else's. This room is never going to be a happy place, but I want it to be a room of peace and of hope for the future for families that have had to experience the loss of a baby.
I (along with some others) have signed to run the Brentwood half marathon, taking place on 19th March 2017. This is a 13.1 mile race that for anyone who knows me well enough will know that's a real challenge! I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone and this is definitely that!
If I reach my target or am lucky enough to exceed it then any additional money can go some way in helping other areas of the bereavement department where extra funds are needed.

8 years agoThank you so much for your generous donations so far! I am totally overwhelmed. I have reached the target that I had set (i was optimistic but trying to be realistic too) within 2 days of my page being live ive smashed it! This doesn't mean you cannot donate - to exceed my target is AMAZING and will mean the room / services can be improved more than I had ever hoped! Please keep giving what you can xx
