Window Wanderland a not-for-profit community event will be coming to our streets in Southbourne (including Pokesdown) for the first time on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th March 2020 from 5:30pm - 8:30pm and we can’t wait!!

Help us transform our streets into an illuminated outdoor gallery to amuse, entertain and enthral visitors and neighbours for a weekend of fun. Taking part is completely FREE. Simply sign up at https://www.windowwanderland.com/area/southbourne/ and create a window display in the front window/s of your flat, house, school, business or shop.

A ‘display’ could be as simple as some fairy lights or image in a window. Your windows could explore family culture, scenes from a favourite book or film, interests and hobbies or anything you feel passionate about. Simple or spectacular… It’s completely up to you. Anything goes… so long as it’s child friendly! Or wrap up warm and just come out on the night to see the windows!

Window Wanderland aspires to bring positivity and warmth into people's lives. It is an inclusive community event, aimed at bringing everyone together.

Although the event is completely free for anyone to take part, and is being entirely run by volunteers, there are costs involved. As well as paying for the Window Wanderland toolkit, which allows participants to sign up to the event and pin their address onto an interactive map, we need to pay for flyer and trail map print costs, materials, x1 artist/tutor led creative workshop to help you create a mini window display. Any donation no matter how small would be gratefully received.

If you still wish to donate after we have reached our target, you can and any funds raised beyond the target will go to Dorset Mind Your Head, a Dorset-wide programme aimed to help children and young people of Dorset to be as mentally healthy as possible.
