    Story

New job, new me.. surely not!

    Nope never!

    Once horsey, always horsey!

I have recently started working at Savills as part of the Central London Investment Team at the Head Office in London. Since starting I have been given the go ahead to ride at Ascot in July in the Property Race Day Charity race, which takes place over the straight mile as the last race of the day, with eleven other jockeys.

I have now under TWO weeks to finalise getting race ready, which includes keeping up the fitness after I passed my jockey test on 6.6.19. As well as sourcing a horse, and a fast one too!

I am extremely grateful to Paul Webber who is a family friend and trains locally to home near Banbury who is kindly allowing me to ride out for him when back from London, as well as giving me tips on how to turn from an ex eventer to race jockey.

Another hurdle I need to jump in order to race, is to raise £5,000 for a charity - I have chosen Trusts for African Schools. TAS is a charity set up to support some of the poorest schools in Africa, primarily Kenya. Access to education is no longer the main problem for Africa's children, it's the quality of the education that is holding them back. I cannot think of anything better than to support a charity to do with a continent that is incredibly close to my heart.

I would be hugely grateful for any support in order to reach my target - it’s certainly going to be a challenge, but one I’m willing to accept!

Not to mention everyone is welcome to attend a fun day at the races on Friday 12 July, tickets can be found on the site below and I believe my brother Jim has decided to ensure it’s a good excuse to have a big day out. There is even a complimentary train from London!

    Huge thank you to all!
