She is a hard working mum of 4, with a loving husband. Her family really are her everything. This news was devastating as you can imagine. She kept the youngest children sheltered from the C word but they worked out something was very wrong. It was heartbreaking seeing the whole family so vulnerable.

In July she had surgery to remove the tumour. She spent 2 weeks at the specialist hospital in oswestry, 1 and half hours away! A couple of weeks after surgery radiotherapy began which entailed daily trips to Christies for 6 weeks.

The past 4 months have been crazy. To add to this was the extra stress and worry over finances. Statutory sick pay doesnt go far. Especially with all the extra fuel costs. To top it off the family holiday had to be cancelled (no refund) they should have gone camping in cornwall but she couldnt travel that far!

Today my lovely friend got to ring the bell at Christies as she has finished her radiotherapy treatment. Shes such a strong and caring woman. I am raising money to send my friend and her lovely family on a well deserved night away/mini break/holiday, that all depends how much people donate.

People who know me know i like a drink. I have gone sober in october which has been so hard but i just have to think what my friend is going through and its nothing in comparison. My daughter had her hair cut off and donated it to the little princess trust. We never asked for sponsorship as we woukd like everyone to donate here instead.
