To raise money ourselves, we will be holding several fundraising events as well as volunteer work in and around the community to raise as many funds as possible.

So far we have held a market fair as well as doing volunteer work in Tesco which has helped us raise £650. We plan to hold a sponsored walk on the 17th of August as well as holding a fun day on Friday for all the children. But to carry this all out we need your help. Any donation helps; we can all make a difference even with the smallest amounts.

As we will be holding a sponsored walk, we will be walking 25km. But we need sponsors, and thanks to modern technology, a few simple taps and you can sponsor us too.

Being part of Sparkles is to be part of something incredibly rewarding and satisfying. Sparkles provides children with the specialist therapy that only comes with sound experience of Down's syndrome. Parents are also supported and get tremendous support and guidance.

As a charity it is funded mainly by the parents of the children attending the sessions with additional contributions coming from fundraising activities. All parents of Sparkles attendees become members of the charity and are encouraged to assist with various aspects of the group. Over recent years they have funded and organised conferences for local support agencies and parents, created a well-equipped resources library and offered a ‘buddy system’ for new families coming to terms with a new arrival in the family with Down's syndrome.
