Weʼve raised £600 to build a school for disabled children in rural Uganda

Funded on Friday, 30th March 2018

    Story

We want to build a new school for disabled children in the Kayunga district of Uganda. Can you help us to get it finished in 2018?

We are working with Spring of Hope, a Ugandan organisation that provides education and therapy to disabled children. They are currently operating out of small, rented premises which are not adapted to meet the needs of disabled children. This school provides the only support for disabled children in this area.

These are some of the kids that go to the school.

The new school building will provide classrooms and therapy rooms and it is on a site big enough to allow further buildings as the school develops.

Some money has already been sent to Uganda to start the building works.

We are taking a team out to Uganda in March 2018 to work with local builders to get the school ready for use.

Can you help us raise funds for the school? We will use the money to buy building materials, to pay for local builders to do the work and to buy fixtures and fittings for the school.

    Thank you for your support

THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the Spring of Hope School building campaign so far. Following a huge amount of work on the school building over Easter, the first block is ready for the installation of room dividers to create classrooms and dormitories for the children. The pit latrine has been started and will be ready for when school opens for the new term. The next big need for the school is for rainwater storage tanks as there is no water supply on site. Watch out for our next crowdfunding page!
