Project 3580 was set up to build a school in the refugee camp in Kissi-Town, Sierra Leone. The number 3580 signifies the number of children under five who died in one year from malaria.

As a school community - teachers, parents, pupils, grandparents, parishoners - we walked 3580 miles around our school field in a sponsored walk and raised £1500 to donate to the project. We have also sorted out books and furniture that will be shipped over to Kissi- Town.

Now, we have the opportunity to send two of our teachers to Sierra Leone in the Easter holdiays to help build the new classroom. Not only will this be a great achievement, we feel that the message that it will send to our pupils will be invaluable. For them to speak to teachers they know about the poor conditions in other parts of the world will help them identify just how lucky we are.

As you enter our school you see the words " Do your little bit of good where you are and together we can change the world."

St Anthony of Padua stated, "Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak."

By sending our teachers to help build classrooms in Sierra Leone, we are proving through our actions that our school community working together can change the world.
