Last year 12 of us from 7SCOTS went to Washington DC to compete in the US MARINE CORPS MARATHON of which 2 where injured veterans one a double amputee. We raised over £8000 for SSAFA . The trip was supported by donations and individual funding. We were hosted by the AFF (allied forces foundation http://alliedforcesfoundation.org). They are a charitable Organisation in the USA who support wound service personnel and Veterans. This June they brought over around 70 wounded service personnel and Veterans from the USA and Denmark to compete in the Cateran Yomp in Perthshire which is a 54 mile hike in the Highlands over a 24 hour period This was supported by 51X PRU (Personnel Recovery Centre) and 7SCOTS (https://www.soldierscharity.org/events/the-cateran-yomp/)
This October we are going back to Washington to compete in the Marathon again to raise awareness and raise funds for various forces charities. We are looking to raise funds for team Sports wear and equipment or looking for sponsors to support us. All team wear kit will have all sponsors logos printed on it and will be advertised on various websites and media launches.
