    Story

We are trying to raise as much money as possible to help keep Oakwood Animal Sanctuary from closure. They look after ill, abandoned or abused horses and ponies and funds are desperately needed to ensure they can continue to provide the care these animals desperately need.

Carol & Jim Horton run and work tirelessly at Oakwood Animal Sanctuary in Thornton Hough. The sanctuary has eleven horses & ponies from different backgrounds, some are old, some ill, some have been abused, and all have been abandoned. As well as the horses there are a host of birds plus a few stray cats and Carol & Jim look after them all.

Carol also runs and works at a charity shop in Neston and Jim is now retired, but does all he can to help at the sanctuary, both working extremely long hours seven days a week. Both Carol and Jim are now in their 70's so running the sanctuary is getting a bit difficult, & sadly the charity shop Carol runs is beggining to struggle, it's located at 4 Parkgate Road, Neston, if you have time pop in to have a look around or drop off a few donations for them to sell next time you are passing.

We are taking it upon ourselves to ask all our lovely family, friends and anyone who would like to ensure the survival of this valuable charity, to help raise as much money as we possibly can. Every penny we can raise will help Carol and Jim feed the animals, pay for expensive veterinary bills and maybe ease their workload a bit.

We are also planning lots of events and challenges to help support these amazing people and make sure we do not lose an invaluable sanctuary for animals in need of help.

Thanks in advance for all your support.
