Story
I work for the St Petrocs society in Truro. I run a homeless hostel to enable individuals to live independently. Everyone who comes through our doors has a different story to tell but all have in common that they would like to move forward and find their own place to call home. We aim to help them with that. Friends of st Petrocs work tirelessly raising funds to better lives by providing appropriate domestic items to help them when they move on to their own independent accommodation and within the houses to help live more comfortably or providing them with items which has a positive impact on their developments. I have had the exciting opportunity to run in the London Marathon this year; I would like to help raise funds for this fantastic charity as well as raise awareness of what we do. I would appreciate if you could support me and the society in accomplishing this, no matter how small a donation. It all helps to achieve bigger dreams.

6 years agoWow, What can I say? All of your ongoing support encouragement and donations have been so overwhelming. It was a tough one. I trained in a very cold winter and took part in the hottest recorded London marathon to date. However, no matter how tough it was for me that day is nothing compared to what our homeless go through daily. Your donations no matter how big or small can make huge differences. So thankyou to everyone of you who have helped to give me the courage to carry on and make a difference to the homeless in Cornwall.

6 years agoWith only 3 days to go the nerves and excitement are building up! The weather is set to be looking very warm, so plenty of fluids and sun-cream packed. I am overwhelmed with the amount of support I have had from so many of you, and the donations you have all so kindly and generously given. There is an app you can download to track me on the day if you so wish. I wont be speedy but I am determined to get over that line. My Bib number is 6171. Thankyou all once again. I will next update after I have finished.

6 years agoSadly due to a family emergency, illness and work commitments my training has been somewhat haphazard. I spent a month doing no running at all. After a brief panic I finally got out there with a lovely running friend and managed 20 mile today. I won't do the marathon in a mo farah speed, but I WILL finish it. Now all I need is everyone on board to help me raise funds for this excellent charity... please share, read and donate. London marathon is a massive thing for me but homelessness is much bigger. Let's do this together 😊.
