Story
Hey!
We are students from St George’s University in London and taking part in Jailbreak 2018. Jailbreak involves us running away as far as possible from our university, in a span of 36 hours using no money of our own. We will be raising money for three amazing charities throughout our journey which are:
1. Mind: They offer information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobby government and local authorities on their behalf. They also work to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health.
2. Royal Trinity Hospice: The oldest hospice in the UK, they work in Clapham and provide compassionate palliative care for over 2,500 patients and their families every year in central and south-west London. They also care for many patients in their own homes, as well as those who are homeless, in shelters or in prison. They were the first hospice to take part in the London Pride parade.
3. St George’s Hospital Charity: They fund research and projects for St George’s Hospital to touch the lives of the thousands of people cared for by them and local community services each year. Some of their achievements include donating £500k that was provided to fund a state of the art Simulation Centre complete with speaking, breathing, heart-beating mannequins that provide the most realistic experience for clinical staff in a training environment.
Any help you can provide is very much appreciated!
