Strength in Numbers Sponsored Press-ups

We have a family who has been a victim of knife crime. Approximately a month ago a young man of 19 years old was on his way home in South London.

Two younger people on a moped chased this young man and his friend. They were out to kill someone they knew and when they called the person's name he made them aware that it wasn't him. Regardless of this fact they stabbed him 3 times across his arms and legs as he was trying to defend himself from being stabbed in the chest. They went away and came back and said "we are going to kill you anyway" and stabbed him a further 6 times, leaving him for dead.

He had to call for the ambulance himself as he was bleeding to death. The police got to him within 3 minutes at which point he had already lost 7 pints of blood out of the 8 pints in his body. The police were able to help stop the bleeding otherwise he wouldn't be here today. Three of the wounds were life-threatening and severed four major arteries. He died twice on the operating table; but by God's mercy the medical staff revived him.

The young man's mother has had to stop work to look after him for approximately 6 weeks and in the process has ended up in hospital with meningitis, pneumonia on her lung and a chest infection. The family are struggling financially and emotionally with nightmares and trauma and we as a Christian group would like to raise some money to support them at this difficult time.
