Story
I could sit here for hours and tell you all the amazing things CHAS do for families and children alike but it wouldn't do them justice.
My eldest son, Alastair, was a happy go lucky ray of sunshine whose smile will forever be embedded on the minds of everyone he met, not once did he feel sorry for himself or let the spark in his bright blue eyes dim. He lived life like there was no tomorrow and CHAS allowed him to achieve that even in his final weeks. They made sure that he never wanted for anything and he got to enjoy every god given moment he had left. CHAS helped us come to terms with the fact that our time together was limited and precious – not that that could ever prepare us for the heartbreak his passing caused.
CHAS provided support for both my family and I whilst we were grieving the loss of our happiness, and although nothing will ever mend the hole he left in our lives, CHAS ensured that we always had a shoulder to lean on, even 7 and a half years later. The work CHAS do is phenomenal and life changing for families who are in our position now, dealing with the knowledge that their children will not make it into adulthood or experience all that life should offer them.
Now I appeal to you. Help CHAS be a life line for families who are living through this nightmare right now.
