Story
I’m sure all but the newest additions to L2C know Subrata, if not in name, then in his ever-personable demeanour. I first met Subrata when I joined the L2C Electrification team last February and I instantly clicked with him. Despite working for the client, he was one of the most welcoming people I met in my first week, as he is always to new people to the project.
Subrata’s work & social life, just as with his colleagues & friends, are one and the same. He has always been quick to offer help and among the first to notice when it may be required; it’s fitting that so many of his friends have expressed an overwhelming desire to help him at this difficult time.
On the morning of 29th November, Subrata suffered a severe brain haemorrhage and was admitted to the critical care unit at Staffordshire Hospital, where he underwent decompression surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain. Thankfully, after some time in rehabilitation, he was released to go home on 10th January and seems to be recovering well.
Despite his eagerness to return to work, it is still uncertain when Subrata will be able to start working again and this time has been an ordeal for his family, not least the financial impact of his situation. However, it is a positive message from his doctor, expecting that he may be fit to start small, simple work activities as early as March.
I’ve set up this collection, in part due to a desire from so many to support Subrata and his family during this difficult time, but also to settle my guilt at stealing his prime office location whilst he is away [thankfully, his sense of humour is in tact].

6 years agoI am ending the fundraiser this week so that I can deliver all the collections to Subrata this weekend, as I'm eager for his family to start putting your donations to good use. Please donate ASAP if you haven't already... or if you've been paid again since donating and you have a little more to give... or you're just feeling particularly kind this week. This will make such a huge difference to Subrata and his family at this challenging time. You all have my gratitude, as I'm sure you will have his :)

6 years agoI had no idea what target to put down, just hopeful that people would donate generously for their friend and colleague. The page hasn't even been up a week yet and we've raised almost a grand! There is still a large number of people who have expressed a desire to donate cash, and there will be a card going around the office at Trent House when Moonpig pull their finger out. Thank you all so much, Subrata and his family will be overjoyed.
