Story
I ran the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 10k and will run the Scottish Half-Marathon in August to raise funds for two organisations: Refuweegee in Glasgow and 7adhreen in Sudan. Please support my efforts by donating equally to both.
Refuweegee welcomes and supports refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and new arrivals in Glasgow. 7adhreen (حاضرين) is a grassroots organisation in Sudan providing meals in my war-torn homeland.
Why 7adhreen? Amid the world's worst, and least covered, humanitarian crisis (reference: IOM), they tirelessly provide food despite little external support. They’ve delivered millions of meals through local coordination and donations from the Sudanese diaspora.
Why Refuweegee? Glasgow has a history of siding with the oppressed, like when it renamed a square for Nelson Mandela in response to the UK *tory* government declaring him a terrorist in the 80s. Refuweegee embodies Glasgow's spirit—empathetic, inclusive, and generous. They support people from all war-torn regions equally, unlike the majority of UK institutions that show bias. These runs are my way of thanking both Glasgow and Refuweegee for their support and for embodying values that make a better world possible.

P.S. 7adhreen, like many organisations working in conflict zones, lacks a strong online presence or official website. You can follow and promote their work on this page Donations can be made directly through the bank accounts listed in their social media campaigns, including a UK account: Donate directly to 7adhreen.
