At the age of 17 I was finally diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis after being ill two years prior. Christmas of 2016 was my first hospital admission for 2 weeks. I was put on steriods and an IV drip called Infliximab. However despite their best efforts my body ended up rejecting everything...

May 2017 the day after my 18th birthday I was admitted yet again, this time for a month. Yet again my body rejected the medications. On the 19th May I had a sub-total colectomy, leaving me with a stoma and an ileostomy bag. Only after surgery did they tell me how close I was to my bowel perforating and me not being here today. I quite literally owe them my life!

Now a few months on I am able to do more things than I could have ever imagined and done while being ill. This is why I want to fundraise for this hospital. So they have the best possibility to save as many other people as they can, with the best equipment available to them.

In a years time I have two more surgeries planned and I am staying with this hospital as all of the staff have been nothing but supportive and friendly, not only to me but to everyone they come across.
