Over the last year my sister has been suffering from anorexia and an eating disorder. She found it extremely hard to find good support in Northern Ireland. As a family we found it very difficult to help as we had no guidance as to how to support her through this illness. It was through internet research that we came across this local support group. Here we could read others stories, get information and other links to further support.

FightED (Fight Eating Disorders) was founded by the McLarnon family from Northern Ireland who had a daughter (Debbie) who suffered seriously from an eating disorder.
Due to the lack of adequate services or facilities in Northern Ireland, the McLarnons had to fight to have their daughter treated by specialist units in London.

I am travelling to Mallorca in May to complete a ironman 70.3 in aid of the cause. This is very close to my heart having watched my sister struggle on a daily basis to live life with an eating disorder. It is only through your support that we can help this charity become more established, which in turn will enable them to help more families in similar situations.
