Z started his military training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before the fall of Kabul in August 2021. Z overcame serious injury and spent time in the rehabilitation platoon. He showed guts, drive and determination to commission on 16 December 2022 in spite of having no army to go back to. He now leaves military training to find study and work in the UK. Z is a gentleman, bright, modest and articulate, and he and his young family will be a huge asset to UK society.

His father was also a member of the Afghan security forces, and after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan he went into hiding, in a safe house funded by Z sending his wages home. Z’s family are now in a safer third country but still face the threat of deportation whilst waiting for their application to come to the UK to be approved.

Money raised from this appeal will go to help Z get started in his new life in the UK, and to help him continue to keep his family safe in a third country until they can be reunited here.
