Story
For those of you that don't know, our lovely friend Scott Wilson is currently in ICU in a hospital in India suffering with Sepsis and pneumonia. He is currently in a fully induced coma whilst they try different treatments and are attempting to bring him out of a sedated state when he is ready. All Scotts family & friends are asking how they can help with being so far away, so with permission from Ross (his brother) and Karen (his mum), I have set up this Just Giving crowdfunding page. Ross has said that Scott is starting to respond, knows they are with him and that having them there, talking and reasurring him is helping. The aim of this page is so that his family and closest friends can be there to support Scott and that finance is the last thing they have to worry about at this time.
Although Scott's employers have been unbelievably supportive (both emotionally and financially) during this difficult time, we want to ensure his family & close friends have funds to support their time in India to make sure that he has someone at his bedside at all times during this crucial time in his recovery. Scotts colleagues, especially Paula, Alex & James have provided overwhelming support (again both emotionally & financially), not only to Scott but to Ross, his mum and all his family, we want to give something back to them. Lynsey Scott (aka 'his wife' as Scott refers) flew over at a moments notice from Dubai to be close to her partner in crime and this has used her hard earned savings and used her Christmas leave. We want to give something back to Lynsey and help her see Scott again if she can due to her proximity and the positive impact her presence is having on Scott's improvement knowing she is there.
Ross & his family cannot express how much they appreciate this support. Ross and his mum are with Scott now in India, which is where they need to be, however some of their stay has been 'unpaid' leave. We also need to ensure that we can provide Scott with all the best treatment & facilities that are offered to aid his recovery in India and when he's home to ensure he can be as independent as we know he would like to be. As you know, Scott is a great friend to so many of us, kind, generous and there when you really need him, providing us with a laugh and a giggle! Ross (aka marathon man!) has also supported so many charities over the last couple of years by completing various runs around the country! Its time for us to give back and support these boys when they needs us the most.
Please donate what you can, even if only a few £. Any funds that are raised and allocated out will be detailed on this page, and any surplus money left when Scott is well enough and home, will be donated to the The UK Sepsis Trust, so every £ raised will help people suffering from this illness. Thanks for reading x

7 years agoRoss would like to thank everyone again for all their kind words. This page was set up to ensure Scotts close friends, mum and brother were able to be at his beside in India during this difficult time and to ensure he had the support and care he needed during his recovery. All your kind and very generous donations have ensured the main focus has been on being there for Scott during his recovery, rather than other worries, and will be split between the Hospital (and the team who supported Scott) and sepsis UK. Thanks!

7 years agoUpdate from Ross: After 3 weeks in the hospital Scott is finally back in his apartment. Been ups and downs. Spoke to him today and he is feeling so much better. He is still on iv for 2 weeks. And will have a nurse with him. He will have to rest up till,6 to 8 weeks. He just said he can’t wait to be fit and ready to fly home. He can’t believe all the support from family and friends. Thank you so much to everyone who has help. Thanks Ross and family.
