    Story

In March, I will be going to Cambodia for 11 days to visit a school in a very remote community, which the charity UWS (United World Schools) has provided the funds to build from the ground, as well as pay for teaching staff and supply all the necessary resources such as books and stationery.

UWS (http://www.unitedworldschools.org) builds schools and supports communities by providing a free basic education for children who would otherwise go without. The charity is transforming the lives of some of the world's poorest and most vulnerable children with a unique, scalable and sustainable model that has the potential to change the face of primary education in the parts of the world that most need it.

When I am there, I will spend my first day learning the childrens' basic language and then, on the subsequent days, will help to teach them, as well as getting to know them as individuals. Prior to my departure, I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to go towards the UWS charity. So far we have organised lots of bake sales and a concert which was similar to Worldovision, with students of all ages at Sevenoaks competing. I also spent all my free time one week washing all the teachers' cars and raised near to £350. In the next couple of months, I am helping with bagging at Waitrose and, additionally, I began my personal challenge of running and cycling 100 miles in 1 month on the 1st February, as well as a personal challenge of going a whole year without chocolate!

We each pay all of our own costs for the trip so that every penny raised goes to the charity and its brilliant work and it would be absolutely incredible if you could sponsor me and our project in Cambodia - any amount of money would be immensely appreciated. It will be overwhelming to witness, first-hand, the amazing outcome of my efforts in the form of seeing children, less fortunate than me, able to learn and be educated.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
