Weʼre raising £350 to initiate a collaborative art project, designed to capture the London and Amsterdam dance scene, free from the restraints, pressures and the artificial construction of our social media age.
We want to capture something which is truly untouched, unposed and a genuine reflection of the London and Amsterdam dance scene, free from any concern of online identity and expression.
The money will allow us to install a series of 35MM disposable film cameras at underground dance events, which can be taken and used, by anyone and everyone attending. The attendees will document the event and then return the cameras at the end of the night. No monitoring, no regulations.
This project, through its accessibility to all attendees at the event, allows for a series of unique viewpoints and perspectives, yet is also free form any bias.
After collecting the cameras after several months of events split between both Amsterdam and London, we will install the developed photographs at a series of events and anonymous exhibitions across both cities. We will then produce a limited series of hand crafted hard-back art books.
The money you donate will be used to fund all of the disposable cameras needed for the project (They are expensive!) and then developing the film. Your contribution however will give you an exclusive opportunity to attend the exhibitions either in Amsterdam or London.
You can also pre-order the finished hardback book. These will be available in limited quantity; if we pre-sell them all, then we will have fully funded our project. In doing this, you will be taken outside the artificial echo chamber of social media, and witness a genuine insight into the millennial dance era.
