Volunteer Mary, who makes the food for the football teams, was on a fundraising mission for our local club. She travelled the length of Mainland Britain, from the southerly point, The Lizard to the most northerly point, The Shetland Isles. Sadly, on her journey home, her 'pride and joy' Suzuki motorbike was stolen and burnt by thieves in Sunderland.

After lots of public support for Mary's situation, she has expressed that rather than have the money go to her, she would like her mission to continue for the club and have donations made to her original cause, improving the facilities for the football players.

The Lizard Football and Social Club now have three fantastic football teams and a non-league children's team. Young boys become part of a supportive community, they grow in confidence on and off the field, improving their mental and physical wellbeing and travelling across Cornwall, meeting other grassroots teams that share their love of sport.


However, the changing facilities are in desperate need of an upgrade, this fundraising money will help us to cover the cost of materials, labour and the maintenance of our facilities.

Thank you for your support and a huge thank you to Mary, whose kindness and compassion continues even under such tragic circumstances, lets hope that we can make something good come out of something bad!
