Story
Western Kenya is suffering a food shortage. Although there are big farms in Kenya, the produce is either sent to Nairobi, the capital, Mombasa to supply the tourism industry or exported, as the profit made form European market is far greater than that of the domestic market.
Rural areas suffer because of this and Western Kenya is full of small, rural communities who only get a very limited supply. The crops that are grown are low in nutrition, so our Charity in Western Kenya has the aim to provide an abundant and varied food supply to the region.

7 years agoGreat news! The onions have now all been transferred and are growing well. |These will soon be ready to start distributing these to the people of Western Kenya. So with your fantastic contributions, we are now ready to plant a second crop of seeds.

7 years agoThree months ago, we planted a crop of Red Onions as many of the villages are unable to buy them, yet they would like them as part of their diet. We started a to grow the seedlings but they were all attacked by insects and we lost them all. We have planted another half acre and this time, we used a natural pesticide that we have developed that has worked well. These onion will now be transferred to their growing bed over the weekend of 19th and 20th August and should be ready for harvest 6 weeks after that. More photos to follow
