This sweet little girl is Tanisha. Tanisha is 7 years old and lives in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Tanisha has a condition called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). The Ductus Arteriosus is a normal foetal artery which usually closes within the first few days of birth. Failure of the duct to close has lead to increased pressure in her lungs which can cause congestive heart failure and an enlarged heart. If the PDA does not close it can be treated with keyhole heart surgery. Unfortunately, Bangladesh hasn't the equivalent of our NHS and her family cannot afford the surgery. The operation costs £2,000. We have already raised a £1,000 but need your help to raise the rest. With treatment the outlook for Tanisha is excellent and usually, no further medicines or surgery are needed. Please donate whatever you can, however small. Every little bit we can raise will help.
