We're going to City Plaza Hotel in Athens this month to volunteer, and we'd like to raise some money for them too as it's funded solely by donations.

City Plaza Hotel was closed for 8 years before it was re-purposed to house refugees in urgent need of safe, clean and dignified accommodation. There's now 400 people living there, including more than 100 families, 165 children, 100 men, 115 women, 35 locals, and volunteers. Supported solely by volunteers and individual donations; they run a kitchen, health centre and school within the hotel.

Donations help to..

- Cook 1200 meals a day.

- Provide medical and other essential supplies.

- Maintain the building (City Plaza has not yet had enough funding to provide heating for the building).

- Provide language classes, Greek for children, English for adults and children, German for adults and children.

A donation of £26 will pay for the needs of an individual for one month. Or a donation of £134 will pay for the needs of an entire family for one month. But of course every little helps!

"All money raised will be used exclusively for the residents of the City Plaza Hotel and to guarantee their continued well-being. A possible surplus might be used to support similar solidarity initiatives with refugees."

We're hoping to raise £700, and would really appreciate your help reaching this target before the end of September.
