THIS IS NOW CLOSED. THE MONEY IS IN A HOLDING ACCOUNT AND I WILL TRANSFER TO SHAKESPEARE NORTH ONCE I HAVE THEIR RESPONSE ON HOW THE DONATION IS TO BE RECOGNISED.
Some of the PGS Facebook community saw my message on the thread about Ted Kirk and supported the idea of fundraising to buy something to commemorate his life. The idea of a plaque or similar at Shakespeare North in Prescot met with some approval. I approached my contact at Shakespeare North and have just received the following message:
‘There will be a donor board within the theatre and an opportunity to have a name inscribed in paving stones or stone balustades. ...similar to Shakespeares Globe in London. We have not priced these yet as a community fundraising launch will probably happen later this year....’
So, if you’re all still keen, please make your donation here and we will see where we get to.

6 years agoDear all Pleased to say I have received a reply from the Shakespeare North Trust. ‘The Trust has agreed that every donation above £500 will be recognised in the building. It might be something on a donor board, a name on a brick or paving stone. The Northern College of Music hope to use the Playhouse for concerts...there could be an annual one in memory of Ted.’ Good news. Although please be aware it won’t be realised for 2 or 3 years yet...I’ll keep you up to date. Let me know via the PGS Facebook page if anyone else wishes to donate.
