Let's cut to the chase, one of my best pals, Chris White, has been burgled. Everyone is safe and well, that's the important thing... but obviously his family is shaken up and feels pretty rubbish right now. The burglars were interrupted thanks to his lovely dog, but they managed to ransack his house while his family slept and took off with his Nintendo Switch, his laptop, and his daughter's mobile phone.

Chris is a proud man, and doesn't want to ask people to help him out, but he's a brilliant guy and I want to see if we can help him here. Unfortunately it seems his insurance isn't going to cover these items, and it's a mark of the man that despite his laptop being how he writes and works (appearing on podcasts, writing reviews, etc - they even stole his game capture device with the laptop!), he's most cut up about his daughter losing her phone to criminals. I thought it'd be an amazing opportunity to show her, and the White family, that people like those who robbed him do not run this world, the good will out, and we can help him get his stuff back, and maybe even better stuff than before. Being a good person matters. No, it doesn't earn you financial clout, but it matters to be honest, kind, hard-working, and caring for others.

The £1000 target we've put on this Just Giving won't cover all of the stuff he's lost, but it'll show him we care, and that the world isn't as bad as it probably feels right now. I know it's a tough time, but maybe, just maybe, we can shine a little light on this lovely family... and also buy the dog a bag of treats for being a hero!

UPDATE: After hitting the £1000, I have increased the target it to the full £1500 that would actually cover all things stolen. I didn't know we'd get to £1000 so quickly, so why not see if we can raise enough to replace everything stolen! Fingers crossed, and thanks for the incredible generosity from everyone!
