Story
During a typical life span a human spends an average of 6 years dreaming. And yet dreams continue to remain both a scientific and societal mystery. The International Archive of Dreams is an online archive and museum-on-a-boat, which invites people to document their dream experiences and participate in workshops, drink tea and dream. The space will also host monthly performances, using sublimely ridiculous dream narratives as inspiration for theatrical and musical performance. That it floats is of the utmost importance- the space must be able to reach multiple communities, move and disappear… Our online archive is accessible to all, where people can share their dreams and discover others’.
We need your help to raise money to help set up the organisation and create our wonderful floating museum which you can read about below...
What we need:
We have set up our online archive which you can check out and contribute your weird and wonderful dream experiences and read about others here: www.internationalarchiveofdreams.com
We now have a beautiful vessel 'Wagtail' which we want to turn into a museum and open in May this year. For this we need money to develop the content of the museum- this involves buying start-up materials, props and objects for the museum, creating bespoke art works and sculptures for the space as responses to dream and creating relevant and interesting scientific content for the museum (created by our oneirologist-in-residence Josie Malinowski).
The space will be -like dreams- ‘sublimey ridiculous’, a microcosm of the mind, with dream maps, dream creatures, ladders that lead nowhere, flying teapots and draws and doors you can open to discover new information. In this highly interactive space, people will be able to archive their dreams there will be a typewriter, feather and ink, voice recorders and inspiration trunks to look into to jerk memories back into life. The boat will move every two weeks along the Regents Canal, in London. To each area the floating space travels to it will bring inspiration and a platform for creative exploration for individuals who stumble upon it.
This is our beautiful 'dream boat' which we want to now transform into a travelling museum!
Regardless of class or race, be you vegetarian or kleptomaniac, princess or pirate, homeless or at home, we all dream. This is one surreal yet beautiful human/animal phenomena that connects us all. Let's discover more about ourselves and each other- please donate here!

I wish I could remember the dreams. I do not even know if they are in colour or black and white. I will check your site for the answer.
