The Cause
We are fundraising in aid of The Pencil Case Project, that supplies schools in developing countries with educational resources and stationary that children need to access the classroom. This fundraiser is for a charity cycle to the pencil in Largs, in aid of this cause.
The Charity Cycle
The charity cycle will be undertaken from Auchterarder-Largs which spans approximately 82 miles by bike, with the finishing point being the pencil monument just outside Largs, to truly represent what we are raising money for.
The picture below shows the monument itself and the route that will be undertaken:
The finishing point of The Pencil Monument in Largs, lies a mile south from the centre.
The 80 mile route from Auchterarder to Largs, will span areas of Perthshire, Stirlingshire, Glasgow and North Ayrshire.
Further Details
The cycle will be completed on Saturday March 30th and aims to be completed in under 12 hours. There will be updates across all official "Pencil Case Project" social media counts, highlighting the journey in real time. Upon completion all donations pledged will be used to purchase school supplies and stationary for The Pencil Case Project. All benefactors of The Pencil Case Project will be listed on the partners page on our website which is set to launch in March.
The Pencil Case Project has complete transparency with financials and intended purchases and that's why we have made available our first round of fundraising itemized list inclusive of costs and quantities to have peace of mind and complete credibility of where the donations are going towards.

What is the Pencil Case Project?
The Pencil Case project is a non-profit organization that provides schools in developing countries with school supplies and stationary, they need for children to access the classroom and thrive in a learning environment. The Pencil Case Project was born out of the desire to change the recent statistic that over 244 million children are not currently in education. From the start of the project the ambition and ultimate goal is to get as many children as possible into education with the tools they need not just to learn but to excel in the classroom.
Here is an excerpt from the "about us" section of our website which highlights further our goals and dreams as an organization.
"The Pencil Case Project was established with one clear goal in mind and that is to provide children in developing countries with school supplies and the tools they need to succeed in the educational environment. From day one our sole vision and core values encompass our three main pillars; dedication- not only to our mission of ensuring that every child has the tools they need to learn but also in our ambition to help change the face of education globally, passion- our true passion for creating an organization that helps some of the most disadvantaged children to achieve great things and drive- our non-stop drive to make sure that The Pencil Case Project is catering for the needs of every child in every classroom globally, these three pillars combined with our experienced team who have over 40 years combined experience in the education sector ensure we as an organization are commiting to providing purpose driven work and enabling as many children to access education, wherever they are."
How we reach classrooms globally
As a project in its infancy, we partner with charities globally who are doing incredible work in their respective communities at bettering education and improving key problems faced within education in developing countries such as low enrollment and attendance to improving the number of pupils that progress from primary to secondary. This is why we have partnered with an Australian based charity called The Classroom of Hope. The Classroom of Hope was founded in 2012 and its mission since then has been to help as many children as possible to unleash their potential through life changing teaching. Some of their most notable work includes the construction of block schools in Lombok, Indonesia where existing schools were previously destroyed by natural disasters. They are build in conjunction with Block Solutions Asia, who provide eco-friendly and quick building materials to ensure that classrooms are built quickly and still maintain an eco centered focus. Our pencil Cases are distributed amongst these block classrooms in Indonesia, where there about 20-25 pupils within a class. We are truly inspired by the work of Classroom of Hope and that's why we are delighted and truly excited to be partnering with them on this journey.
To discover more about the Classroom of Hope's Work you can view their website here.
What's Included in each pencil case?
We want to ensure that every pencil case is equipped with appropriate learning materials, for children to be able to learn and that is why in each pencil case there is:
The Pencil Case Itself
One sharpener
Two Graphite Pencils
One Ballpoint Pen
One rubber/eraser
One 15cm Ruler
Between 4-5 coloured Pencils
We believe what we offer in each pencil case build a strong foundation of learning and help to support schools that are under resourced.

Our final thoughts
We are extremely grateful for any donations big or small as every single one will help to make a global impact. On average a pencil case will cost 96p so every donation will be making an impact no matter how small or big.
We hope you can get as excited as we are about this charity cycle and there not a more fitting finish location than the Pencil Monument in Largs.
We understand the importance of making education accessible and hope that we have managed to convey our passion and dedication in making the pencil case project a meaningful and impactful organization.
