April 4th 2016, Ben was rushed into hospital with a catastrophic Aortic Dissection which also caused dissections to his carotids (stabilized) and his intestines and kidneys. His kidneys gave up but have returned to 70% function. He spent 8 months in hospitals and rehabilitation centers. At the end of it though, he is wheelchair bound due to damage caused during the original operation to save his life.

We have adjusted well to our new life but Ben wants to earn a living rather than rely on benefits. As gardening, our trade before this happened, is now out of the question, Ben is trying to use his skills as a photo/videographer. I can do some small, part time work but not enough to equip him with the tools he needs.

Our aim is to get him a camera he can move around himself, at the moment he often needs me to move his huge old video camera around, and lightweight apparatus.
