In lieu of birthday gifts and cards, I am raising money for 2 local causes that do a lot for the community of Denbigh and surrounding area.

Rhuddlan Children's Centre
I attended here as a young child, pre-school and received support from the caring staff through my period of being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of autism. This gave me the foundation I needed to grow into a happy and confident individual alongside a caring and supportive family and group of friends. The Centre provides support to children and families going through similar situations. I was lucky enough to have succeeded through mainstream schooling and employment into adult life.

Waen Outreach, Capel Y Waen, Llanelwy.
A community run initiative led by volunteers supporting adults young and old through illness such as cancer, dementia and such conditions, which can create barriers in their daily lives, having huge impacts on families and friends. The service provides Day Care and Respite support and an Outreach service for people in their own homes.
Members of my own family have been through similar situations due to illnesses, which through no fault of their own have led to difficulties. Thanks to this service, the strength and good will of its volunteers, provide a sense of hope, care and support for people in need.
