🌈 Tommy’s Journey – Fighting Cancer for the Third Time
Tommy is an absolutely beautiful, bright, funny, and joyful 5-year-old who loves rainbows, cars, football & fully takes advantage of being the youngest of 5 siblings. He lives in Sale, on the outskirts of Manchester. Tommy’s smile is magnetic, his spirit is fierce, and he brings light and laughter wherever he goes. To meet him, you’d never guess the battles he’s already faced ,not once, but three times.
At just 2 years old, Tommy was diagnosed with Wilms tumour, a rare kidney cancer. He went through treatment: chemo, surgery, countless hospital visits…and he did it all with strength and his beautiful smile. He rang the end-of-treatment bell in November 2022, and we truly believed that chapter was closed.

But cancer had other plans.
In September 2023, just 11 months after ringing the bell, Tommy relapsed. This time it had spread to his lungs and chest. He had to start again — more chemotherapy, more isolation, more surgery, and radiotherapy to his lungs. He battled bravely through it all.
Tommy was given the news that there was no sign of disease in June 2024. He returned to school, thrived in the classroom, and has made some brilliant friends, started to have a normal childhood and even enjoyed his first real family holiday abroad. ☀️

But heartbreakingly, in May 2025, 11 months later, we were given news no parent ever wants to hear. This is something I never wanted to have to write.
Tommy has relapsed again. For the third time.
This time, the cancer has returned in a more aggressive form, involving his lungs. He has already had radiotherapy to the lungs and surgery to remove multiple tumours last year. Because of that, his local treatment options, like more radiotherapy or surgery, are extremely limited. A lung transplant is not possible. The chances of cure are now low.
But Tommy’s will to play, to laugh,to have fun is as strong as ever. He’s currently undergoing further chemotherapy, but we are now urgently exploring treatment options abroad, including clinical trials and innovative therapies not available through the NHS.

💛 Why We’re Fundraising 💛
To give Tommy the best chance at life, we need to raise £300,000. This will help cover:
•Access to specialist treatment and clinical trials abroad
•Travel and accommodation costs for Tommy and his family
•Essential care and recovery support
If these funds aren’t needed in full, or if Tommy’s journey takes a different path, all remaining money will be used to help other children fighting cancer.
