Weʼve raised £11,185 to pay for tablets that the NHS will not fund. Vanessa, 49, a married mother of two and animal lover, has a rare, aggressive leukaemia.

    Story

Vanessa, my daughter, is suffering from TPLL, a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. She has endured three cycles of chemotherapy, which did not work and made her even more ill. Our family are spending their entire savings on paying for Venetaclax tablets. These are not funded by the NHS, even though they are licensed to treat cancer in the US and Europe. They cost £60 for every tablet and she now needs eight every day for at least one month to extend her life. Every day she survives adds to the research knowledge of the medical profession, because she is one of only three people in the world with this disease trying this treatment.

With great sadness I have to advise that Vanessa died early on the morning of the 4th September. Please be assured that all your generous donations were used to defray the cost of the venetaclax treatment. I hpoe the information gleaned by the medical profession may help someone else in the future

After 7 weeks in the Churchill Hospital Oxford Vanessa is now at home with her family. A few infections have been treated and she has lost her PICC line temporarily this requires the nurses to use hypodermics for the weekly blood tests causing some bruising . Not going into crowds but has celebrated her wedding anniversary at a local Pub !! The good news is she is able to enjoy our wonderful summer relaxing at home with her family see blow

I am the father of Vanessa, and I have already lost both of my parents, my wife and my eldest daughter to cancer. It is heartbreaking to watch my only remaining child dying and having to leave behind her husband and my two grandchildren.
