Story
Over a month ago a category 5 hurricane with no warning ravaged Dominica. The results were unimaginable leaving 80% damage. Families and homes were washed away including the roof of my sister in law and her families house. They have lost everything they own. 95% of the island has no water or electricity and are not expecting any until next year. Despite an overwhelming amount of aid entering the port, distribution of such essential life changing items, food, has still not reached their village. They have only received bottles of water. There is a 6pm-6am curfew due to looting on the island and the family does not feel at all safe.
The aim is to support the family and bring them over here for Christmas, while their home is being re-built.
What can you do to help?
The donations if we can reach the target, will cover the cost of return flights for the family to the UK and enable them and the children to experience a sense of security, stability and normality, most importantly giving them hope to rebuild their lives.
