    Story

After many months of consideration, I will be taking part in my first half-iron distance triathlon on July 1st 2018. The triathlon is a total of 70.3 miles, including a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle and 13.1 mile run.

The reason I have decided to take on this challenge is due to my desire to want to help others. All proceeds raised from this crowd funding page, will be donated to the Brain Tumour & Clinical Radiobiological Research Fund.

My drive to want to do this is due to the ill health of a friends family member. While the care received has been of the highest standard, the fact remains there is a constant need for continued research, this research requires funding, hence my drive and determination. The money raised may only make a small impact, but every step in the right direction is a good step.

Friends and family mean the world to me, as those around me will know. It is extremely difficult to see those I care about go through such difficult times in such difficult circumstances. The affect this can have on a family is life changing. But the support and treatment offered by the NHS and charity funded research facilities can help fight the disease, support patients rehabilitation, advise and help loved ones directly and indirectly affected.

The Brain Tumour Clinical and Radiobiological Research Fund helps patients in the Midlands through treatments and consultations. The charity produces amazing results but relies upon donations. The donations you make will directly aid patients suffering from Brain Tumours in the local area, including the friend referred to above and following some recent bad news, this support is more appreciated than ever.

Thank you for taking the time to read my crowd funding page. If you can, please take a moment to sponsor me. It really would be greatly appreciated.

If it has been a while since you've seen me, the chances are I'm either swimming, cycling or running!

    Thank you,
    Shaun
