This is for a young horse called troy, who Severed his tendon out in the field in February. He is a handsome fellow with a bright future ahead of him.
I have nursed him back to health, with many months spent wondering if he would even survive the wound, with massive fear of his bone becoming infected.
In the beginning the vet careful to sew the wound and tendon back together and bandaged the leg up. She left me with an abundance of antibiotics and needles and talked me through how to administer these into the muscle. This was a tough thing to do, nothing prepares you to inject an animal you love 3 times a day. Troy began to detest it as well and I spent many mornings and night crying telling him it was for his own good.
But alas many months later we are in the final stages of wound care. As a lot of the skin and flesh died, we were troubled with what's called proud flesh. Flesh that is full of blood vessels but no nerves. This grows out of the leg resembling a brain and had to be cut off regularly leaving a mass of blood to spill on the floor and down his leg. He didn't seem bothered, but I've never been so worried at the sight of so much blood! We had to do this several times.

The vet bill was generous and came to just over £1000 which I have already almost halted. But unfortunately his bandaging was costing nearly £20 a day and I have now ran out of funds.
Both myself and troy would be eternally grateful if you could spare a couple of pounds to help pay his bill and allow him to get more treatment to ensure the tendon is usable again. I just want him to live comfortably and not in pain, the vet had suggested treatments but without paying the remainder of the bill, we would have to leave treatment.
