I'm in the 6th Form at Beacon Academy Crowborough East Sussex. Each year a group of students visit the Gambia in December to see first hand the problems that a Third World country faces from an economic, educational and environmental viewpoint. The school has a strong link with The Gambian High School and their 6th Form students accompany us on the trip.

We have an overall fund raising target this year of £50,000 which is just over £500 per student. In previous years, the money raised has funded water systems, school buildings & equipment, health centre buildings & equipment, health care programmes and many other projects. This trip is all self-funded and every penny we raise goes into improving the lives of the people of Gambia so please help me to reach my target of £500.
