Story
We hope you enjoyed the Ulverston Lantern Festival 2017.
ET made our cobbled streets his home, the Clangers came to call and the USS Enterprise beamed-in to boldy go where no lantern had gone before. It was the biggest procession in some years and the biggest turnout.
But with everyone spread around the town, lots of people obviously missed our collection buckets, which meant we collected less than half our normal amount. The final total averaged out at around 20 pence per adult at the event. The event receives some support from Ulverston Town Council, the Ulverston BID and local businesses but it is self-funding, and we need public support to ensure that it takes place again next year.
If you can click-in a few £1s digitally you'll help to ensure the Lantern Festival can shine-on in 2018.
This enormous community event costs around £8,000 to stage and the bulk of that comes from sales of lantern-making kits and your donations on the night. So if you didn't get to tinkle some coins in the bucket on Saturday Sept 16, please take a moment to add to the kitty and we promise to return to generate more lantern magic in 2018.
THANK-YOU!!

A huge amount of work behind the scenes brings us one of the best nights of the Ulverston festival year. Community, candles, inventiveness, dancing and smiles. Thank you for all you do.
