Myself, Ian Pert and Ronnie Russell (all Manx Grand Prix competitors) will be completing a humanitarian van trip to Romania at the end of October this year. This idea is very much inspired by the late, great Joey Dunlop.
We will be completing the trip at the end of October.
We will be filling the van(s) with the things that we have been asked (by supporting charities) to take with us - things like children's clothing, non perishable food items, toiletries, bedding etc.
Although we have some of our money in to making this trip happen we need support to cover ferry / diesel costs.
In an ideal world we will be able to raise more than what is required to just cover costs - in which case we will donate all monies to the Billy Redmayne Memorial Fund.
Laxey lad Billy, tragically lost his life in a racing accident at Scarborough earlier this year. The motorcycle racing community was robbed of one of it's brightest young stars. Not only this, Billy was a highly commended member of the Parachute Regiment who had been officially recognised for his bravery when engaging the enemy in recent conflicts.
