    Story

💜 A few weeks ago our beautiful daughter Olivia was diagnosed with Epilepsy. It’s something my husband and I had zero knowledge or experience of. To say it’s been an emotional roller coaster and a steep learning curve would be an understatement.

💜Epilepsy Northampton aim to provide information packs inc an Edward Bear (perfect companion for MRI’s, EEGs and the other barrage of tests usually required. Plus to supply anti suffocation pillows and bed alarms to those who need them most.

💜One of the most terrifying things we witnessed was waking up to Olivia having a Tonic-Clonic seizure and realising her head was under her pillow. Thankfully for us since being on medication Olivia’s seizures have reduced immensely and slowly our fear about her going to sleep is lessening. But for some their seizures struggle to be controlled even by medication. The constant fear every night of prolonged seizures or suffocation must be overwhelmingly terrifying and exhausting not just for the person experiencing the seizures but for their whole family.

💜 An anti suffocation pillow can help alleviate some of that fear for an entire family every single night!

💜Bed alarms alert parents to Tonic Clonic seizures. Prolonged seizures lasting 15 mins or more can result in brain damage and require rescue medication.

💜Information packs and a dedicated helpline can help parents understand epilepsy which is both complex and varying

💜We all have sleepless nights but sleepless nights over the fear of death is something no one should ever have to experience.

💜There are at least three epilepsy-related deaths a day in the UK. 💜

    💜Thank you💜

How adorable are these bears 😍 Donations will also go towards providing those newly diagnosed with information packs, filled with contact details, first aid info & information explaining epilepsy. For the children they will also get an Edward Bear - the perfect companion for EEG’s, MRI’s, sleep deprived EEG’s and the other barrage of tests required 🐻💜
